General

The General group is where you tell Loca the basics about yourself, decide what the agent is allowed to know about your surroundings, and set how the app behaves when it starts. None of it changes what the agent can do; it changes who it is talking to and what it can take for granted.

You and the agent

Set Your Name so the agent can address you, and the Agent Name to give the persona you are talking to an identity of its own. You can also set the Language the agent should reply in, which is a request it honors as well as the model allows rather than a hard switch. These are small touches, but they are the difference between a generic assistant and one that speaks to you the way you want.

What Loca shares

A model knows nothing about your world unless you tell it, so the General group lets you choose what context to pass along: your rough location, the current date and time, and the kind of computer you are on. Each is a toggle, so you decide what the agent gets to assume. Sharing the date and time lets it reason about “today” correctly; sharing your location helps with anything local; leaving them off keeps the agent to what is in the conversation alone.

Launch and sessions

A few settings shape how the app comes up. Start at Login brings Loca up with your machine so it is always there. New Session on Launch decides whether you open into a fresh session or back into your last one, and Save Sessions controls whether conversations are kept at all, for when you would rather they leave nothing behind.

How It Works

The details you choose to share do not live inside the model; they are gathered into a short block of context that the Core places at the front of each turn, alongside your system prompt. That is why a toggle takes effect immediately and why turning one off genuinely withholds the information: if the date or your location is not in that block, the agent never receives it for that message. The naming and language settings ride along the same way, as part of the standing context the model reads before your words.
