The Settings Panel

Everything you can configure in Loca lives in one settings panel, grouped by concern in a sidebar down the side. Most of the chapters in this manual end at a group in this panel, so knowing how it is laid out, and where each setting is actually stored, makes the rest easier to navigate.

Groups and search

Pick a group in the sidebar to see its settings, or search to jump straight to one by name when you know what you want but not where it lives. The panel stays uncluttered on purpose: most descriptions sit behind a small info button, so a group shows its controls plainly and reveals the detail only when you ask for it.

This is the same panel every Settings link in this manual points into; the demos throughout are individual groups from it, rendered exactly as they appear here.

Where settings live

Settings split between the two halves of Loca, and the panel tells you which side each one is on. Some settings belong to this Client, like how the app looks; others belong to the Core that does the work, like which model answers you. A badge on each group marks the side a setting is saved on.

That distinction is not cosmetic. A Client setting travels with this app, so it follows you to a different Core; a Core setting lives with the Core, so it is the same no matter which Client connects. It is the same split described in The Basics, made visible at the point you change something.

Only the values you actually change are stored, so a fresh install starts from clean defaults and your settings file stays small, holding your decisions rather than a copy of every default.
