Run the Core on this machine too
  1. Install the package with your distribution's package manager (e.g. sudo apt install ./loca-core-latest.deb).
  2. It registers the Core as a background service for your user; Loca connects to it on the next launch.

The Android app is a signed APK you install directly.

  1. Open the downloaded file on your phone.
  2. If asked, allow installing apps from this source.
  3. Confirm the install, then open Loca and connect it to a Core.
How to Install
  1. Open the downloaded installer.
  2. Keep Loca Core selected to run your models and tools on this computer, and pick its options. Uncheck it only if this device should connect to a Core on another machine.
  3. Follow the prompts to finish the install.
  4. If macOS blocks the installer as being from an unidentified developer (signed builds are rolling out), clear it once:
    • Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security.
    • Scroll to the Security section and choose Open Anyway next to the Loca message.
    • Enter your password to confirm, then open the installer again.
  5. Open Loca. If you installed the Core with it, Loca connects to it on its own; otherwise it asks you to connect to a Core on another computer.

  7. If you ever need to uninstall, follow the uninstallation guide .
  1. The AppImage is one portable file that keeps itself up to date. To run it:
    • Make it executable, either from your file manager's properties (allow running it as a program) or with chmod +x on the file.
    • Open it from your file manager or run it in a terminal. It runs in place, with no system install.
  2. Open Loca. It asks you to connect to a Core: one from the packages below on this machine, or one on another computer.
